Special Chicken Biriyani @ panamarathu biriyani kadai (பனைமரத்து பிரியாணி கடை ) || Travel to Madurai

Welcome again to travel to Madurai. Here I am with another exciting place to eat a good food. Yes its panamarathu koli biriyani kadai which is located just behind infant jesus hospital at Mahalipatti, Madurai.

My uncle once took me there telling that that was a very famous shop when he narrated I was imagining it like a big shop with a very shiny interior and colorful foods. Its name was so unique and I was so excited to see it.

At my first sight, I was a little disappointed. It was nearly opposite of what I imagined but It tasted heavenly. It was a very old building a reception and an open kitchen at the center and 2 rooms on the left and right side of the kitchen.

We asked for the special food to a person and he said our special dish is chicken biriyani and we ordered it. We asked that man what is so special in you biriyani we get biriyani everywhere now. He said we used to prepare it using (Veragu adupu) wood fire stove.

Let me talk a little science, it is proven that food that is prepared using wood fire stove is more readily to digest than the food that is prepared using an induction stove or a petroleum gas stove.

As  that person promised the food tasted awesome. I felt so lite after eating their biriyani. I did not get any kind of discomfort in my stomach which most hotel food actually does. Hope you would give a try to this shop. Stay tuned for another place at Madurai. Thank you and keep supporting us.

Special kari dosai and kodal poddi mass @ Koorai Kadai (கூரை கடை) || Travel to Madurai

As the name mentions it's a tiny hut, elegantly located near a busy road. In the center of the shop you could find a neem tree around which the shop is constructed. Please don’t underestimate! you can find amazing food over there. The special dishes you can get there are "karri dosai" which is made out of Dosai stuffed with either chicken or mutton and "kodal poddi mass" its a gravy dish made out of eggs, rich spices and a lot more. Yummy!!! Now coming to my story. How I found this place! One fine evening my friends took me there for a birthday party. Not to lie, at first while looking at this shop I thought its just a parrota shop that could be found in every nook and corner of Madurai. But I was wrong. We a group of 6 friends went there, ate a lot of food like each had kari dosai, omelette, mutton, chicken and so on. I was pleasantly shocked by the bill. It was just Rs 450.
